The United States of Al (2021)
United States of Al is a comedy about the friendship between Riley, a Marine combat veteran struggling to readjust to civilian life in Ohio, and Awalmir ("Al"), the interpreter who served with his unit in Afghanistan and has just arrived to start a new life in America.

Al becomes flustered when he goes to the DMV to take his driver's license test and the female instructor is wearing shorts, something he is unaccustomed to seeing.
Repair/Tarmim
Riley goes to patch Vanessa's water heater. Al tries to mediate between them, but learns more details of their breakup than he previously knew.
Pilot
Marine veteran Riley, home at last after serving in Afghanistan, is happily reunited with his friend Awalmir, who goes by Al, the interpreter with his unit, after a long struggle to get him a visa to travel to the United States from Afghanistan.
